Please consider participating in important research by participating in a Focus Group about employment in June 2022!

Advancing Equal Access for People with Intellectual Disabilities in the Workplace

A UBC Study in partnership with Inclusion Canada and People First of Canada

Primary Investigator: Dr. Rachelle Hole, CIIC, UBC Okanagan

More information including the dates and how to sign up are below.

We want to hear from you because you have important experience and knowledge about employment.

What you are being asked to do for this research:

You are being asked to be part of an online focus group with other participants in the same group (employers, self-advocates, employment specialists, parents/caregivers of self-advocates). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will meet using Zoom. The focus group will be digitally recorded because we do not want to miss what is said. Once we turn the recording into written words, it will be deleted. Your comments will not be linked back to you personally. The focus group will take about 1 ½ hours and will be held on Zoom in a comfortable and safe environment, most likely from your own home if you choose. Individuals who agree to be interviewed are called participants.

If you need or would like, during the focus groups we can offer Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART), and translation to American Sign Language (ASL) or Langue des Signes Quebecoise (LSQ). Please let us know if you need or would like to use one of these accessibility options.
