In August 2022, the province and the coalition agreed to a collaborative process, including the appointment of independent experts Eddie Bartnik and Tim Stainton, Co-Director of the Canadian Institute for Inclusion and Citizenship.

“After months of work, including consulting with those directly affected, the experts provided a report that included recommendations for sweeping changes that would end a quarter century of systemic discrimination and create a system of social assistance that recognizes and respects the different needs of people with disabilities.”
