MAiD Update: Special Joint Committee has made recommendation that make things worse (From Inclusion Canada)

🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨 February 16, 2023
The Special Joint Committee on MAiD was responsible for learning how to “protect” people with disabilities in a country that provides MAiD on the basis of disability.
At the committee, people with disabilities were dismissed, lectured, badgered, and discredited. Unsurprisingly, the committee has now made recommendations that make things worse.
To shed light on this issue, we’ve released a video showing the mistreatment of Canada’s disability community by the AMAD committee. Check it out here: YouTube Preview Image
We encourage you to reflect on the conduct of Parliamentarians and how the views of the people with disabilities have been silenced. Question the recommendations of this committee. Question their impact. Demand better.

To our community: a more accessible version of this video is in the works. We apologize for releasing the video without all accessibility features in place. Given the grave nature of the recommendations in the AMAD committee’s final report, we feel it is important to get this message out sooner than later. Captions are available in both English and French on the current video.
