Keep the History of Community Living Alive

For the past 18 months, the Centre for Inclusion and Citizenship has been joined by an expert reference group to lay the groundwork for a “Community Living Archive”. This group has recognized the importance of preserving the history of our social movement so that we can learn from our past, now and in the future. After hard work and dedication, the Reference Group is thrilled to announce the inaugural donation to UBC’s Rare Books and Special Collections Department. The Jackie Maniago Fonds (Collection) marks the first of its kind in British Columbia, and represents the inclusion of our collective story in the public record. Our story is one of adversity, hope, radical change, and determination, and is something to celebrate.

The Historical Collections and Archives Reference Group wants your records to be preserved. The voices of individuals and organizations need to be in the historical record. Find out more about what can be donated and how you can be involved.
